Perhaps you need a technically savvy person in other roles beside programming. I am comfortable interfacing with geeks, clients, customers, children, the elderly, the mentally ill, and aliens. I have prior experience with all of these, and other people and places besides.
I love to code, but I fit many places on a team.
I am an open source Librarian. I work almost exclusively with open source technology. The world of Open Source has been my Graduate School. I troll github network graphs to find forks and fixes.
For me, "professional development" means keeping track of what is going on in Open Source.
I love finding new projects, trying them, and watching them mature. I use Github keep track of dozens of open source projects, and am very resourceful and finding and assessing code new and old.
I am currently building a new site to make it easier to share demos, apps and experiments, of which I have many. Fow now, here are a few apps, and links to modules, and open source code. I have recently been building apps for Web Audio, WebRTC, Canvas, User Media, mobile, touch and cross platform usage. Get in touch with me to know more about my work.
I'm on a mission to do good. I'll be very excited to join on your team if your team is working to solve problems, make improvements, or develop products for the following sectors:
Before learning my Masters in Programming, I worked for Chicago Public Schools. I taught and subbed first, then moved into supplementary education under the No Child Left Behind act (NCLB). My work took me to almost every CPS School which could be classified as "under-performing". You can imagine what that means in a district like CPS, where nearly 40% or entering students do not graduate. In my role, I interfaced with faculty, administrations, teachers and students at over 100 schools. Eventually this line of work would send me to schools and districts around the Midwest, and down the Mississippi River.
Independent contracting and freelance web development have supplemented my education and provided much of my practical experience.
I have worked for interactive agencies, eCommerce sites, small business, non-profits, and individuals.
